March 2010 Newsletter

In the past year Rex has had a bevy of ideas for LDS vocal solos and has now completed three books of vocal solos entitled Introspection of Five LDS Vocal Solos, Contemplation of Five LDS Vocal Solos and Exhortation of Five LDS Vocal Solos all new music for the LDS public. Rex has met with arranger Greg Hansen to consider orchestration and recording of that music for distribution to the LDS market.

Continuing ideas for contemporary vocal solos have come to Rex and he has now completed a new book of vocal solos entitled Six Favorite State Theme Songs which includes songs endearing the states of Utah, Idaho, California, Nevada, Arizona and Colorado. Further sheet music available for use is a collection of six songs about famous personalities popular on the entertainment and political scene, including Marie, Laura (Bush) Chelsea (Clinton), Cindy (McCain), Michelle (Obama) and Mary Kaye (Huntsman).

Next projects Rex is working to write are a book of contemporary songs of inspiration meant to buoy up the seeker of success and a book of contemporary love songs that soloists could sing at family and group events.

Rex has written two auto biographies available on this site, explaining events of his life as influenced by the debilitating circumstances caused by his bi polar illness that is without cure and has caused significant set backs in his life. Volume three is presently in progress and since it accounts life's events of the author the story is still out as to whether he will conquor over the debilitating effects of the bi polar illness.

Recently Hollywood recording company, Hilltop Records, solicited Rex to review his original songs and Rex sent his songbooks entitled "Six Celebrity Theme Songs" and "Six Favorite State Theme Songs". The staff of Hilltop Records picked the first song in each book, Michelle (Believing You Believe In Me) and "Utah" to make master record and include in their new CD entitled "America". This CD will be distributed for radio air play nationwide and for retail sale.

In August of 2008 HillTop Records advised Rex they were doing a Christmas CD for national distribution and requested original Christmas songs for review. Rex proceeded to write 11 new, original Christmas songs which have now been printed and will be available under the sheet music section of this site. HillTop Records ultimately chose two of Rex's songs to record entitled "Walking On To Bethlehem" and "Christmas Should Be Happy.

In October of 2008 Rex visited the BYU Bookstore and placed all of his original published songs for sale at their location. The BYU Bookstore also accepted Rex's two life histories about bi polar illness for sale as well.
